First Period:
 
- Tucson gets their first power play of the night 8:20 into the period. San Diego comes into the evening with the AHL's worst-ranked penalty kill. 
 
- Conor Garland opens the scorinbg 11:32 into the game, slamming home his first professional goal off of a redirected Zbynek Michalek shot from the point.
 
- Matia Marcantuoni and Zbynek Michalek register their first points of the season with the assists on Garland's marker.
 
- Christian Fischer hits the post on a shorthanded scoring chance.
 
- Each of San Diego's two first period goals come against the Roadrunners' penalty kill. Tucson's power play goes 0-for-1 against the Gulls' last-ranked penalty kill unit in the opening period.
 
Second Period:
 
- Adin Hill has had to make a flurry of impressive stops in the opening minutes of the second. Tucson has come out rather flat.
