TUCSON, AZ – Tucson Roadrunners General Manager Doug Soetaert announced today that the team has acquired forward Jeremy Morin from the Syracuse Crunch in exchange for forward Stefan Fournier.
The 25-year-old Morin is a former second round draft choice (#45 overall) of the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The Auburn, NY native brings with him 82 games of NHL experience, where he posted 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points with the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets. This season with the Crunch, the 6-1, 190-pound Morin has appeared in 43 games with nine goals and 21 points.
“We wanted to add more scoring depth to our top nine forwards,” said Soetaert. “We feel we’ve done that by adding Jeremy to the lineup.”
In 310 total American Hockey League games, Morin has scored 106 goals, 115 assists and 221 points. He has also won a gold medal with Team USA at the U-20 World Junior Championships in 2009-10 and captured a bronze with Team USA at the 2015 World Championships.
Tucson returns to action tonight against the San Jose Barracuda at 7:05 p.m. featuring $1 hot dogs, popcorn and soda for fans. Tickets for all remaining Roadrunners home games are on sale now via the TCC Box Office and online at TucsonRoadrunners.com.
