Coyotes Assign Fischer; Roadrunners recall Cooper

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have assigned forward Christian Fischer to the Tucson Roadrunners, the club's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).
The 19-year-old Fischer registered 3-0-3 in seven games with the Coyotes and became the third player in Coyotes history to score three goals in his first four career NHL games. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound native of Chicago, Illinois has registered 19-24-43 and 28 penalty minutes (PIM) in 51 games with the Roadrunners this season.
Fischer was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2015 Entry Draft.
Tucson also recalled forward Mark Cooper from the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL. Cooper has previously appeared in five games with the Roadrunners with no points. This season with Rapid City, the 6-2, 190-pound right wing has 16 goals, 26 assists and 42 points in 54 games. He will wear #25 with Tucson.
The Roadrunners close out the inaugural regular season home schedule this weekend against the San Diego Gulls tonight and tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Tonight is Trading Card Giveaway Night courtesy of Desert Diamond Casino and $2 beer night, while tomorrow night is Fan Appreciation Night presented by Pepsi with contests and giveaways from Roadrunners partners all night long.
