BYE BARRACUDA: Tonight marks the eight and final meeting with the Barracuda this season, and the fourth of the Roadrunners’ four scheduled visits to San Jose’s SAP Center. The Barracuda are completing a three-game home stand, where they’ve posted a 1-1-0-0 record this far. The Roadrunners are playing the fourth of a five-game road trip. Both teams are coming off a meeting Tuesday night in which the Roadrunners won 2-1.
SECOND-TO-LAST: The Roadrunners have only one game left in their inaugural 2016-17 regular season schedule following tonight’s affair in San Jose. Can the team piece together a second-straight win before heading to Stockton Arena for Saturday night’s finale?
PROJECTED LINEUP: The team assembled for a morning skate at the SAP Center in anticipation of tonight’s game. Hunter Fejes, who was recalled from Rapid City (ECHL) earlier in the week, is with the team. The lines used Tuesday night are listed below; it is unclear whether any changes are to be expected.
MICHAEL BUNTING – CHRIS MUELLER – CHRISTIAN FISCHER
JOE WHITNEY - RYAN MACINNIS - JEREMY MORIN
ERIC SELLECK - TYLER GAUDET - CONOR GARLAND
MITCH MOROZ - TREVOR CHEEK - MARK COOPER
(HUNTER FEJES – GRAYSON DOWNING)
JARRED TINORDI – JAMIE MCBAIN
KYLE CAPOBIANCO - DYSIN MAYO
DAKOTA MERMIS – KYLE WOOD
(BRANDON BURLON – DAVID MUSIL – JALEN SMERECK)
THE LAST TIME AROUND: In the teams’ previous meeting on Tuesday night at the SAP Center, the Roadrunners held on to earn a 2-1 victory. Christian Fischer and Kyle Wood scored first period goals, both of which were assisted by Chris Mueller. Adin Hill made 32 saves in the win. The Roadrunners are now 2-4-1-0 against the Barracuda this season.
CLIMBING THE RANKS: With two assists in Tuesday night’s game, Chris Mueller moved into second-overall in AHL scoring with 66 points (18G, 48A). He has registered eight points (3G, 5A) in the team’s last eight games, and has points in six of the last seven games, totaling 13 points (5G, 8A) during that span. Mueller has eight points (1G, 7A) in seven games played against the Barracuda this season.
#27 LOOKING FOR #26: With his assist on Christian Fischer’s 20th goal of the season Tuesday night, Michael Bunting recorded his 25th point of the season, tying the total he finished his rookie campaign with last year with the Springfield Falcons. Can the Roadrunners’ slinky forward set a new single-season high for points by hitting the score sheet tonight?
