BATTLE IN BAKERSFIELD: Tonight marks the first of eight meetings with the Condors this season, and the first of four visits to Bakersfield’s Rabobank Arena. The Roadrunners are playing the first of a four-game road trip, and are coming off of a 7-6 loss to the San Diego Gulls Saturday night. The Condors are playing the second of a two-game home stand; they’re coming off of a 5-4 win over the San Antonio Rampage on Thursday.
STROME SHOWING: Dylan Strome, who appeared in the Coyotes’ first two games of the season, and in seven during the 2016-17 campaign, is expected to make his American Hockey League debut with the Roadrunners tonight. Strome, wearing #91, accumulated 354 points (114G, 240A) in 219 career games with the OHL’s Erie Otters.
BALANCED ATTACK: Six different players scored for the Roadrunners, and 10 total registered at least one point in the team’s opening night 7-6 loss to the San Diego Gulls on Saturday night. Can the team receive an even spread of offensive production tonight in Bakersfield?

HOT TOPICS: Tonight’s contest will see the fourth-overall selection in the 2016 NHL Draft (Jesse Puljujärvi) take on the third-overall selection of the 2015 NHL Draft (Dylan Strome). Strome, who has nine games of NHL experience with the Arizona Coyotes, will be making his AHL debut against the Condors’ Puljujärvi, who played in 28 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season.
HISTORY LESSON: In eight games against the Condors last season, the Roadrunners posted a 4-3-1-0 record, including a 2-1-1-0 mark in road contests at Rabobank Arena. The Roadrunners will not be back in Bakersfield until December 29.
SHORTHANDED STRENGTH: The Roadrunners surrendered three power play goals to the Gulls last Saturday night during seven shorthanded stints. The Condors’ power play comes into the night 0-for-10 on the season. Can the Roadrunners’ penalty kill keep Bakersfield’s man-advantage unit blank tonight?
DATE NIGHT: One year ago tonight, the Roadrunners took the ice for their first-ever game in franchise history against the San Diego Gulls at the Valley View Casino Center. Can the club celebrate one year of AHL-official competition with a win against the Condors tonight?
