Good evening from Gila River Arena, where Roadrunners players are partaking in off-ice workouts following this afternoon’s two-hour practice as Friday night’s regular season opener against the San Diego Gulls at the Valley View Casino Center inches closer.
Due to previously scheduled events at Tucson Arena, the team will practice at the parent club’s home building in Glendale up until Thursday, when they will travel to Southern California for the commencement of their inaugural American Hockey League season.
The team is slated to practice from 2:30 – 4:30 PM on Wednesday afternoon, then from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Thursday morning.
On the ice today for the Roadrunners were 23 players, those of which consisted of 14 forwards, six defensemen, and three goaltenders.
In color-coded practice uniforms, the players aligned thusly:
RED: BRENDAN PERLINI – CHRIS MUELLER – CRAIG CUNNINGHAM
WHITE: GARRET ROSS – RYAN MACINNIS – CHRISTIAN FISCHER – TREVOR CHEEK
GREY: MICHAEL BUNTING – TYLER GAUDET – CONOR GARLAND
BLUE: ERIC SELLECK – MARK OLVER – STEFAN FOURNIER – MATIA MARCANTUONI

The Roadrunners roster is still not officially set for the season; the league must approve a final set of names on Thursday. The Coyotes announced their opening night roster at 2:00 PM PST Tuesday; Rookies Dylan Strome, Christian Dvorak, Lawson Crouse, Laurent Dauphin, and Jakob Chychrun will begin the season in the NHL with Arizona.
Tuesday didn’t provide any media availability from the Roadrunners’ coaching staff or players, who are getting situated here in Glendale for the next couple of days. The players will partake in media sessions following Wednesday’s skate, including headshots and video snippets for the in-game video board.
Coyotes photographer Norm Hall was on-hand during Tuesday’s practice to provide a look at the Roadrunners players and coaching staff through the eyes of his ever-so wondrous camera lens, providing exemplary shots of the team in a practice setting, those of which will be shared as a full photo gallery very soon.
The team’s video producer, Amy Koeller, observed practice from Gila River Arena’s cozy lower bowl, building a stock of footage before Wednesday’s scheduled filming of the players’ scoreboard clips and intro-video cameos.
A happy Tuesday to you all; for now, enjoy some photos taken during today’s skate:
