Game #44 – Roadrunners at Condors

The Tucson Roadrunners open their seven-game road trip Tuesday night with the sixth matchup of the season against the Bakersfield Condors.

Game Recap: Abbotsford (2) at Tucson (5)

The Tucson Roadrunners earned their fourth-straight win on Sunday, as they defeated the Abbotsford Canucks 5-2 to wrap up a two-game weekend series. Sunday’s contest also marked the final matchup of a six-game home stand at the Tucson Arena that saw Roadrunners secure five multi-goal victories. Linemates Mike Carcone (14 games) and Adam Cracknell (four games) each extended their active scoring streaks with a pair of assists apiece, while Tucson goaltender Ivan Prosvetov stopped 38 shots to pick up his 12th win of the year. The Roadrunners will head out on the road for the next seven games for their longest road trip of the season, beginning on Tuesday, January 31 in Bakersfield against the Condors. 

Game #43 – Canucks at Roadrunners

The Tucson Roadrunners wrap up their six-game home stand from the Tucson Arena Sunday afternoon with the second of two matchups against the Abbotsford Canucks. The Roadrunners won the series opener Saturday night by a score of 6-3 for their fourth multi-goal win in their last five contests. Sunday’s game will be televised live in Southern Arizona on The CW Tucson, as “Voice of the Roadrunners” Adrian Denny will be joined by Tucson.com’s Brett Fera for the third of six total Roadrunners contests to be televised this season.

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners defeated the reigning Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves Tuesday by a final score of 5-1 at the Tucson Arena. Forward Cam Hebig broke a scoreless tie late in the middle frame before he capped off Tucson’s four-goal third period for his first multi-goal outing of the season. On the other end, Roadrunners netminder Tyler Parks earned his second consecutive victory since his season debut for Tucson on Friday, January 20, as he stopped 27 of 28 shots faced. The Roadrunners and Wolves will wrap up the two-game midweek set on Wednesday, which represents Chicago’s final contest in Tucson this year.

Game #42 – Canucks at Roadrunners

The Tucson Roadrunners host the Abbotsford Canucks Saturday and Sunday to close out their six-game home stand at the Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners have won three of their last four games on their home ice, while the Canucks enter the weekend coming off of a two-game series split at home against the Toronto Marlies. Saturday night is also the fan-favorite Star Wars Night presented by JW Marriott, with dozens of iconic characters, interactive games, and themed promotions taking place at the Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners have won each of their last two Star Wars Night contests dating back to the 2019-2020 campaign, including last year’s 3-2 overtime victory against Bakersfield on January 29, 2022. 

Game Recap: Chicago (1) at Tucson (4)

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners defeated the Chicago Wolves 4-1 on Wednesday to secure a two-game sweep over the defending Calder Cup Champions, as well as their third win in their last four outings from the Tucson Arena. Four different Roadrunners lit the lamp in the win, while linemates Mike Carcone (2a) and Adam Cracknell (1g 1a) notched multiple-point performances. Goaltender Ivan Prosvetov stopped 21 of 22 shots faced for Tucson to earn his 11th win of the season.

Game #41 – Wolves at Roadrunners

The Roadrunners wrap up their two-game midweek set with the Chicago Wolves Wednesday night at the Tucson Arena. Tucson has a chance to sweep the defending Calder Cup Champions after winning the series opener 5-1 on Tuesday night. A win Wednesday would be the Roadrunners third in four games to start their current six-game home stand, as well as their fourth in seven games since a third-period comeback and 4-3 shootout win in Bakersfield on January 14. The series finale also represents the second to last Kids Free Wednesday of the season, as all kids 12 and under can receive a free ticket to the game with a paying adult at the Tucson Arena Box Office.

The Roadrunners continue their current home stand with a pair of midweek matchups against the Chicago Wolves, AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes. The Wolves are the defending Calder Cup Champions after defeating the Springfield Thunderbirds in five games last June, and enter the two-game set with Tucson off of back-to-back wins on the road. The series with Chicago marks the middle two contests of the Roadrunners current six-game home stand at the Tucson Arena.

Game Recap: Bakersfield (3) at Tucson (2)

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners split the weekend series against the Bakersfield Condors at the Tucson Arena, as they fell by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Tucson linemates Laurent Dauphin and Nathan Smith recorded their second-straight multiple-point performances with a goal and an assist apiece, while goaltender Ivan Prosvetov made 22 saves and denied a penalty shot attempt by the Condors. The Roadrunners will remain at home for four more contests at the Tucson Arena, beginning on Tuesday when they host the Reigning Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves.

Game #39 – Condors at Roadrunners

The Roadrunners will take on the Bakersfield Condors from the Tucson Arena Saturday night to wrap up the two-game weekend set. Saturday’s series finale marks the fourth and final time the Roadrunners will play host to the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers this season, with three more matchups slated to take place at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield. Following their rematch against the Condors on Saturday, Tucson will remain on their home ice for the next four contests beginning on Tuesday with the first meeting of the year against the reigning Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves.

Game Recap: Bakersfield (2) at Tucson (6)

Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners led for 58:45 of regulation on Friday as they defeated the Bakersfield Condors by a count of 6-2 at the Tucson Arena. Five different Roadrunners skaters recorded multiple-point performances, while netminder Tyler Parks stopped 23 of 25 shots faced in his season debut with Tucson. Friday’s series opener represented the first El Lazo de Tucson night of the 2022-2023 campaign, as the Roadrunners debuted new El Lazo alternate jerseys and Mascot Dusty donned his alter-ego of “El Polvo” for the contest. Tucson and Bakersfield will wrap up the two-game series Saturday night from the Old Pueblo with their fifth of eight total meetings on the season.
