Job Summary
The Tucson Roadrunners Community Relations Intern will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Roadrunners Community Relations Department.
This internship will interact with members of all Tucson Roadrunners departments to facilitate internal and external development, communication of, and implementation of programs and initiatives. They will use various channels to publicize donation opportunities, special events and programs for the Community Relations department. The Tucson Roadrunners Community Relations will report to and work closely with the Roadrunners Team President.
An ideal candidate for this position works well under pressure and can multi-task. This individual also has strong personal engagements and a positive attitude.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist with development and implementation of all special events, community activities, and fundraisers.
- Assist with development and implementation of a strategic community engagement vision and plan.
- Assist and coordinate day-to-day operations and communications related to Community Relations
- Proactively assist within the organization to foster the Tucson Roadrunners presence in Tucson and the surrounding communities.
- Schedule and book Dusty and inflatables for community events.
- Manage the community relations calendar and work to update and provide information to the office regarding community relations and RGB events and initiatives.
- Track community efforts and outreach (Numbers of appearances, programs reached, etc.)
- Catalog and track all in-kind donations.
- Fulfill donation requests and enter in organization database
- Assist the Communications Department by providing updated content for the Community tab on the website.
- Lead execution of the 50/50 raffle, including setting up stations and equipment, meeting with and answering questions from participating non-profit organizations, counting and organizing money, etc.
- Assist with in-game fundraising efforts of the Foundation, including sales of charitable items and management and collection of silent auctions.
- Manage team/community relations inventory items.
- Assist with volunteer projects, player appearances and communications of community related events (hospital visits, PSA, sponsor events, etc.)
- Provide timely and as needed updates to Senior Staff.
- Provide administrative support and assist other Community Relations initiatives as directed by Team President.
- Must be available to work game nights.
- Other duties as assigned.

- This position requires working game nights, some weeknights and weekends as necessary in addition to normal business hours.
Work Requirements
- This position requires weeknights and weekends as necessary in addition to normal business hours, including attending all home games.
- Will work a maximum of 29.5 hours per week.
