Tucson Roadrunners Clinch 2023 Calder Cup Playoff Berth
Tucson, Arizona – The Tucson Roadrunners punched their ticket to the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs Saturday night with a standings point in overtime against the Texas Stars at Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners trailed 4-0 with 2:19 remaining in the second period before scoring four unanswered goals, including two 37 seconds apart in the final 2:41 of regulation, to force overtime and earn the final standings point required to clinch the Playoffs.
The Roadrunners will head out on the road for the First Round of the Playoffs, which features a best-of-three series taking place between April 18 and 23. Playoff Round Passes go on sale Monday, April 10, should the Roadrunners move on to the Second Round to host Playoff Hockey at the Tucson Arena for the first time since 2018. For the First Round, the Roadrunners have partnered with Main Event at 4700 South Landing Way as the official Watch Party Site of the Playoffs. Main Event will host Watch Parties for each game in the First Round with food and drink specials, discounted play cards, and more available for Roadrunners fans.
The Roadrunners will be wearing their White Kachina Alternate Jerseys for all home games during the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs. The jerseys made their debuts this season on November 19, 2022, in a 6-3 win against the San Jose Barracuda.
Tucson will play out the final two games of their regular season schedule at home against the San Jose Barracuda Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15 as they gear up for a deep playoff run.
