Brad’s Weekend Roadmap: Last Call

This week was a big week at the Tucson Arena and Roadrunners Headquarters. Adrian and Kim talked with new Roadrunner Hunter Drew, we heard from Head Coach Steve Potvin, and we’re finishing up our #SummerRunners campaign as we hit Labor Day Weekend.

Brad’s Weekend Road Map: Getting Geared up

As the season approaches and school goes back into session the Roadrunners are warming up for a fiery 2023-2024 season with hockey's best prospects.

Brad’s Weekend Roadmap: Mid-Summer Mischief

A few things are happening as the summer moves past the half way point. Only 51 days remain until the season steps back into full swing, starting with the Coyotes preseason game at the Tucson Arena.

Jimmy’s Weekend Roadmap: August 11- B-B-Q Blast

Hello everyone, it’s me again, back for your Weekend Road Map! This was another quiet week of the summer, but that will change next week with one event already on the calendar and another announcement coming early in the week. With that being said, let’s take a look at where you’ll be joining us on Wednesday night!

Brad’s Weekend Roadmap: Calm Before The Storm

This week has been pretty slow as we gear up for some big events coming very soon. No large community events means more time to talk to Ivan, work on Immaculate grids and eat some good food along with watch the crazy rain that we have been having.

Brad’s Weekend Roadmap: July 28 – Zoo Many Activities

Since Jimmy is moving into a new apartment this week, I am back for a third edition of Brad’s Weekend Roadmap. This week has been an exciting week with events at the Reid Park Zoo with the Tucson Familiy Food Project and the Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank and at the TCC with AZ Bilingual.

Weekend Road Map: July 21 – Short Time No See

Back by (un)popular demand: me! I hope you had a great last couple of weeks enjoying my vacation and reading Brad’s Weekend Road Map. I thought he did a fantastic job, and he might even fill in again at some point as the summer goes on. It was a busy first week back with plenty to cover, so let’s get right into it!

Brad’s Weekend Road Map: July 14 – Schedule Shenanigans

This week, the Coyotes have signed a few familiar faces. Forward Nathan Smith was signed to a one year, two-way contract. Smith had a successful season this past year, going 12-15-27 in 64 games with the Roadrunners and appearing with the Arizona Coyotes in 4 games. Another familiar face is from the other side of the ice. Defenseman Montana Onyebuchi was signed to an entry level contract. Onyebuchi spent the past season with the San Jose Barracuda where he went  3-7-10 in 35 games. Onyebuchi was previously signed to an AHL contract and this will be his first NHL contract

Brad’s Weekend Road Map: July 7 – Going Big

The first Roadmap of July is here! As you may have heard, Jimmy is on a vacation, so I will be taking a break from writing over on TucsonRoadrunners.com/Espanol to take over here until he is back. This week has been an exciting week with tons of signings and Development Camp madness fully underway in Scottsdale.

Jimmy’s Weekend Road Map: Picks Are In

It’s official, we’ve made it to the last Weekend Road Map of June (but not nearly the last Weekend Road Map of the summer, don’t worry). It was an exciting month of hockey if you look back at it, we saw original Roadrunner Adin Hill win the Stanley Cup, we saw the Coachella Valley Firebirds and Hershey Bears take Game Seven of the Calder Cup Finals to overtime for just the second time in AHL history, and we welcomed the AHL Team Business Meetings to Tucson for the first time. We were also able to close out the month by getting our fans back inside the Tucson Arena for an NHL Draft Party that gets an A+ grade in my opinion, so a big thanks to everyone who joined us for that!

Jimmy’s Weekend Road Map: Business Casual

Welcome the first official Weekend Road Map of the summer, even if it’s felt like summer here in Tucson since March. It’s been a busy week for the Roadrunners and Arizona Coyotes, so I’ll do my best of covering everything here. I’m writing this from Day 3 of the AHL Team Business Meetings here in Tucson at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa (simply “the JW Marriott” or “Starr Pass” for us locals). With that out of the way, let’s get right into the top story of the week, courtesy of the Arizona Coyotes and General Manager Bill Armstrong.

Jimmy’s Weekend Road Map: Hill On Top

Welcome to the first Weekend Road Map with NHL hockey (sadly) done for the season, after Tuesday’s Game Five saw the Vegas Golden Knights (and more importantly, former Roadrunner Adin Hill) hoist the Stanley Cup. There’s no point in waiting around, so I’ll get right to it this week.
