Tucson Roadrunners Announce 2026-27 Opening Night Roster

TUCSON, AZ – The Tucson Roadrunners, American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Utah Mammoth, today announced the team’s roster ahead of Opening Night on Saturday, Oct. 3, against the Colorado Eagles at Tucson Arena at 7 p.m. MST.
The roster includes 19 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.
The 31-man roster features 11 rookies, including forwards Yegor Borikov (fourth round, 2025), Caleb Desnoyers (fourth overall, 2025), Tij Iginla (sixth overall, 2024), Vadim Moroz (third round, 2023), Gabe Smith (fourth round, 2024) and defensemen Gregor Biber (fourth round, 2024), Terrell Goldsmith (fourth round, 2023), Brandon Holt (undrafted), Tomas Lavoie (third round, 2024) and Cal Thomas (sixth round, 2021), along with goaltender Michael Hrabal (second round, 2023).
Excluding rookies who appeared in a handful of games for Tucson last season, the Roadrunners return 16 players from last season, including 12 forwards: Owen Allard, Cameron Hebig, Sam Lipkin, Julian Lutz, Miko Matikka, Ben McCartney, Noel Nordh, Austin Poganski, Jack Ricketts, Kevin Rooney, Ty Tullio and Sammy Walker. Tucson brings back both its leading goal scorer from last season in Hebig and its points leader in Poganski.
Tucson also returns three defensemen, Artem Duda, Montana Onyebuchi and Robbie Russo, and goaltender Jaxson Stauber.
Four notable veteran newcomers round out the group, including forwards Joshua Roy and Brandon Tanev, defenseman Zac Jones and goaltender Jesper Vikman. Tanev brings more than 600 NHL games of experience, while Jones led the league in assists and all AHL defensemen in points and was named a First Team AHL All-Star in 2025-26 with the Rochester Americans. Roy was also an AHL All-Star in 2024-25 with the Laval Rocket.
