In the team’s season opener on Friday in Texas, goaltender Antti Raanta posted a 19-save shutout while on a conditioning loan from the Arizona Coyotes en route to a 2-0 win.

Goaltender Adin Hill returned to game action for Tucson on Sunday and was succeeded by the North American pro debut of Swedish netminder Erik Kallgren.

“I think it was a really good first game.  We’ve got a lot to build off on, but so does a lot of teams after the first night.  It’s good though, it’ll be a learning curve for us but hopefully we can keep excelling every night.” – Roadrunners defenseman Aaron Ness following Friday’s victory in Cedar Park, TX.

“I’m really happy with our guys’ play.  I thought we played really well actually.  It’s the first game of the season, it was a long summer and to come out like that, it was really impressive.” – Roadrunners Alternate Captain Michael Bunting said Friday night of the team’s first game together as a group.

The team will practice at the IceDen Chandler twice this week before departing for Ontario, CA on Thursday.
