Tucson Roadrunners Sign Forward Jack Ricketts to One-Year AHL Contract

TUCSON, AZ – The Tucson Roadrunners, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Utah Mammoth, today announced that the club has signed forward Jack Ricketts to a one-year AHL contract.
“After an outstanding collegiate career, Jack proved last season that he could play and contribute at the American Hockey League level,” said John Ferguson, general manager of the Tucson Roadrunners. “We will look for continued improvement from him this season.”
Ricketts, 26, split his 2025-26 rookie season between the Roadrunners and Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, recording 10 points (5g, 5a) and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in 31 games with Tucson and 18 points (8g, 10a) and 36 PIM in 30 games with Utah.
He ranked third on the Grizzlies in goals and fifth in both points and assists before being recalled to Tucson on Jan. 21, 2026. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound forward made his AHL debut that same day against the San Diego Gulls and remained with the Roadrunners for the remainder of the season.
Ricketts signed a one-year AHL contract with the Roadrunners ahead of the 2025-26 campaign following five collegiate seasons at Quinnipiac University (2024-25) and Holy Cross (2020-24), where he totaled 114 points (66g, 48a) and 187 PIM in 158 career NCAA games.
After four seasons at Holy Cross, the Oakville, Ontario, native transferred to Quinnipiac for the 2024-25 season as the nation’s leading active NCAA goal scorer with 46 career goals. He helped lead the Bobcats to the ECAC Hockey regular-season championship while recording 27 points (20g, 7a) and 47 PIM in 38 games. His 20 goals led the team and set a new career high.
Ricketts broke Quinnipiac’s Division I single-game record with four goals against American International College on Dec. 29, 2024, and was named the ECAC Best Defensive Forward and to the ECAC Second All-Star Team for the 2024-25 season.
At Holy Cross, Ricketts recorded 87 points (46g, 41a) and 140 PIM in 120 career games. During his final season with the Crusaders in 2023-24, he served as team captain, earned Preseason All-Atlantic Hockey honors and recorded a career-high 35 points (19g, 16a) in 39 games. He also served as an assistant captain in 2022-23 and was a two-time All-Atlantic Hockey Second Team selection (2022-23, 2023-24).
Prior to his collegiate career, Ricketts played four seasons with the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), totaling 166 points (73g, 93a) in 207 career games.
