Tucson Roadrunners Announce Three Additions to Hockey Operations Department

Matthew Klinkenberg named Hockey Operations Manager, Baillie Sarris hired as Performance Coach and Adrian Presnilla joins as Assistant Athletic Trainer

TUCSON, AZ – The Tucson Roadrunners, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Utah Mammoth, today announced three additions to the club’s hockey operations department, hiring Matthew Klinkenberg as Hockey Operations Manager, Baillie Sarris as Performance Coach and Adrian Presnilla as Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Klinkenberg will oversee hockey operations for the Roadrunners, including roster management, team travel and team services. He joins Tucson after spending the previous four seasons with the Harvard University Athletic Department, including the last three as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. In that role, he served as the primary media contact and social media lead for Harvard Men’s Hockey while also supporting several of the Crimson’s other Division I programs. Klinkenberg also worked closely with Harvard Hockey Operations on team travel, family communications, school visits, media opportunities, alumni events and special projects.

In addition to his work at Harvard, Klinkenberg spent the past eight years with the Boston Red Sox security department, working closely with Team Services staff to assist with the movement and care of players, families, celebrities and VIP guests during games, events and other high-profile occasions at Fenway Park and throughout the greater Boston area.

Sarris joins the Roadrunners after spending the previous four years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with GVN Performance, a training destination for elite hockey athletes across the professional, collegiate, junior and youth levels at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. During her time at GVN, she also worked with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program for four years as an Assistant Strength Coach and led the program’s nutrition efforts during her final year after completing her master’s degree. She has also worked in collegiate athletics with the University of Wisconsin and Western Michigan University Baseball. Sarris holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Nutrition from Concordia University Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Western Michigan University.

Presnilla joins Tucson after spending the previous two seasons as Head Athletic Therapist for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Prior to joining the Oil Kings, he spent two seasons with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Presnilla has also worked in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders, as well as with several other hockey programs, including the Mount Royal Cougars Men’s Hockey Team, Calgary Northstars Minor Hockey Association, Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) academies, and Hockey Alberta. He recently served as a Guest Athletic Therapist for Hockey Canada’s U17 Development Program this past July.

He holds a Post-Graduate Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Bachelor of Kinesiology in Exercise Science from the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
