Q: Bob good to see the guys picking up where we’ve left off to start the first 36 games of the year, how big is this upcoming home stand to keep things rolling?

It’s how they show up and play that same system and how they end up stifling their opponents. This team has just been so sharp over the last two and a half months at doing that in every game there is hardly a night that you don’t see them no matter who is in the lineup; they all step up and fill in their roles.

Q: What is going on behind the scenes from the production to the media to the sales and marketing during home games to make it all happen?

You can write a book on that process; all of the different people that get their hands into making the sausage right? We’re very blessed and fortunate here with the Roadrunners in our eighth season. I can’t think of very many moments that we haven’t’ had a solid team doing their role and playing their part on what they need to do. This year even more so in the fact that we have such talented people; but also people that are passionate in what they do, that care so much about perfection and what they’re putting out there for the fans. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more driven group than what we have this year.

Q: You guys are obviously and rightfully so the biggest Roadrunner fans on the planet; at the same time, as much as everyone seemed to think this would be a good year; are you at all surprised at how well this team has been able to put it together?

It certainly is a great addition to see the team having that success, but I am the wrong person to ask about that because I am biggest optimist in here. I am not surprised at all. I think we should win every game and when I go into the offseason, that’s the fun part for me, I step aside from the business side, I look at the roster and start putting lines together and thinking who we’re going to have on this team. When I see that, I start getting really excited, I go into a season thinking we’re going to win the division and we’re going to be a force.

Q: What’s the simple quick way to make these theme nights happen? Do you have to work with the organizations who own the rights to this stuff?

The good news is they love the marketing side of it and there is a process in place where they can push items out to teams all across the country so every team can have these certain theme nights. You don’t have to do a lot of digging fortunately; there are departments in place to license those sorts of things to make sure everything lines up correctly.

Q: Next week is Tip-A-Roadrunner, what can people expect from that event?

We last did it in fall of 2018. It’s one of my favorite events where the players will be your waiters for the night; taking your drink orders and bringing the food out and hopefully earn some tips through a dance or a song. Luckily, we are blessed to be partnered with Make-A-Wish Arizona as the sole benefactor from that event. I am so grateful that we will be able to make some wishes from our loyal fans and sponsors being able to help.
